Williams-Sonoma and QVC lead in December availability testing

Williams-Sonoma.com and QVC.com ranked first in high broadband availability tests among large retailers in December, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. Last month, online shoppers using Internet Explorer could access QVC.com 100% of the time. Williams-Sonoma.com averaged 99.98% availability in Firefox testing last month.

Apple.com (99.99%) ranked second and Walmart.com (99.98%) ranked third in Internet Explorer tests, while HSN.com, LLBean.com and OfficeMax.com posted a 99.96% availability score. Rounding out the top five for Firefox testing were Apple.com and Overstock.com (tied with 99.95%) and QVC.com and Gap.com (tied with 99.94%).

The average Internet Explorer availability for the 23 retailers measured in December was 99.91%, Gomez says. The average Firefox availability for the same group of retailers last month was 99.71%.
