Sears names a new boss for its apparel business

Lana Cain Krauter worked at Bealls and J.C. Penney.

Sears Holdings Corp. has a new leader for its online and in-store apparel business. Lana Cain Krauter takes over as senior vice president and president, Sears Apparel.

She comes from Bealls Department Stores Inc., where she worked as president and chief merchandising officer. Before that, she was executive vice president and general merchandising manager, men’s and children’s apparel, for J.C. Penney Co. Inc.

J.C Penney is No. 16 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Sears is No. 8. Bealls is No. 360.

"Lana is a great addition to our apparel team," says John Goodman, executive vice president of apparel and home for Sears. "She brings to the company an excellent track record with brand, product and customer loyalty program development and a demonstrated success in creating and inspiring high performance teams."    

Krauter begins her new job Feb. 1. She will work from the retailer’s San Francisco office.
