AisleBuyer LLC, a mobile checkout technology vendor, said today it had hired Navjit Bhasin as vice president of engineering. He will supervise product development and technical tasks for the Boston-based company.

Bhasin comes from Orchard Brands Corp., an apparel, footwear and household goods company that is No. 63 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. The company, part of Golden Gate Capital, operates such brands as Appleseed’s, Haband, Tog Shop and WinterSilks. Bhasin worked as the company’s director of enterprise architecture and planning. He supervised more than 100 information technology employees, according to AisleBuyer.

“The mobile industry is in a state of flux right now, and I know AisleBuyer is poised to forever change the retail ecosystem, while at the same time empowering retailers with data and analytics they've never had access to before,” Bhasin says.

Earlier this year, AisleBuyer launched a service that enables consumers to use an iPhone app to scan products and buy merchandise inside stores without spending time in checkout lines.
