Outdoor gear and apparel retailer Moosejaw Mountaineering is providing web shoppers information about inventory at its retail stores. Through the new Google Local Availability program,  Moosejaw uploads inventory feeds from all of its retail locations, along with each product’s online availability and Google will serve that information to customers in close proximity to the stores.

“Google Local Availability should really drive sales, not just traffic, as this program is designed to bring in buyers that know the product that’s in stock at a price they like,” says Eoin Comerford, senior vice president of marketing and technology, at Moosejaw, No. 277 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Moosejaw has seven retail stores located in Michigan and Illinois in addition to its online store, Moosejaw.com.

Google introduced the Local Availability program last month, with 70 retailers participating initially.

Google Local is available to online and mobile shoppers.
