Apple and L.L. Bean post the fastest response times

The retailers turned in the fastest response times for large retailers in November, says Gomez.

Apple.com and LLBean.com produced the fastest high broadband access times among 25 large web retailers tested last month, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. In November, Apple.com generated the best response time of 0.96 seconds in Internet Explorer testing. LLBean.com led last month’s Firefox testing with an average access time of 0.92 seconds.

CDW.com had the next best Internet Explorer response time with 1.23 seconds, followed by Dell.com (1.30), Overstock.com (1.31) and Newegg.com (1.45 seconds).

Apple.com had the second-fastest Firefox response time with an average of 0.97 seconds. QVC.com (1.09), Overstock.com (1.10) and Dell.com (1.12) rounded out the top 5.

In November, the average top retailer’s high broadband response time for a shopper using Internet Explorer, according to Gomez, was 2.31 seconds. The average Firefox response time among the same group of retailers last month was 2.04 seconds.
