That includes 10,000 seasonal workers for its distribution centers and 3,000 to help stores cater to cross-channel shoppers.
The retailer has launched web sites in 11 countries in the past year.
European apparel retailer Olsen Europe has launched a North American e-commerce site, OlsenEurope.com.
The site mirrors the retailer’s European site in order to ensure Olsen maintains a consistent look and feel worldwide, the retailer says.
The new site is the eleventh site the retailer has launched in the past year. The retailer is working with Fifth Gear to fulfill orders in the United States. Shipments to Canada are pre-cleared so that Canadian consumers do not have to pay import or custom duties.
“Online orders will be fulfilled in the U.S. for all North American customers to ensure timely and cost-effective options,” says Solomon Mathalon, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The retailer also operates 58 bricks-and-mortar stores in Canada.
