Launched last year, the ATG Catalyst program is a community-supported asset distribution channel designed to inspire innovation, enhance product implementations, and further connect ATG customers and partners. Since the program’s introduction, more than 2,680 catalyst assets have been downloaded by developers who have used the valuable resources to enhance various cross-channel commerce initiatives. ATG clients have leveraged these available assets to build new features and applications, and enhance existing functionality to improve the customer experience on the web and across channels.

Introducing ATG Mobile for Android
ATG Mobile for Android provides a framework for clients to create and manage shopping applications optimized for Android-powered devices, including full m-commerce support.
Functional features include:
Multiple methods to discover products: includes support for browse, faceted search, and automated product recommendations
Rich imaging: merchants can utilize pan, zoom, and tilt horizontal features to present product images
Native navigation: intuitively makes use of touch screen for browse and search, scrolling categories, product and image selection, and checkout; menu and back key support is also included, as are quick fill functionalities that streamline data entry
Promotional content: includes merchandiser-managed slots to support targeting, personalization and promotions for mobile shoppers
Location Awareness: permits the targeting of content and promotions based on each shopper's current GPS location
Channel Synchronization: includes the ability to create and share saved addresses, credit cards, and cart status updates between site and mobile device, so carts and data can follow shoppers securely across channels.
Innovation in mobile commerce
Among the first assets made available through the ATG Catalyst program was ATG Mobile for iPhone® and iPod touch®, a native software application for sophisticated mobile storefronts optimized for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch. Several global brands have taken advantage of this application, and have used it as a template to create and launch sophisticated mobile commerce applications. ATG customer Tommy Hilfiger received industry recognition for its mobile application built with ATG Mobile for iPhone, including the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association’s (RAMA) Racie Award and the Retail Information Systems News (RIS News) Mobile App of the Year Award.
New York-based Bluefly Inc., an online retailer of designer brands, fashion trends and superior value, is one of the latest ATG clients to launch a mobile shopping application using ATG Mobile for iPhone.

These assets provide members with ideas, guidance, and reference code that enable new extensions to ATG products, and integrations with partner technologies and emerging technologies, such as mobile and social commerce tools.
