The retailer of eco-friendly products launched in 1999.

Jane Capital Partners LLC has bought Green Home LLC, which operates Greenhome.com, where online shoppers can buy organic and environmentally friendly products such as rain barrels, socks, caulk and air quality test kits.

Jane Capital did not disclose the purchase price. The merchant bank and venture advisory firm focuses on energy, environmental and information technology. Both Jane Capital and Green Home are based in San Francisco.

“Our research shows Greenhome.com is the premier green e-tailing platform and one of the most respected green retail brands,” says Jane Lindner, managing partner at Jane Capital.

Greenhome.com launched in 1999 and uses a ratings system to describe how each product it sells impacts the environment, the two companies say. Lawrence Comras, the retailer’s CEO, founded the company and owned most of it. “Jane Capital has an appreciation and commitment to both strong standards and pragmatic environmentalism,” he says.
