That includes 10,000 seasonal workers for its distribution centers and 3,000 to help stores cater to cross-channel shoppers.
Diana Sikes had worked for the furniture retailer’s ad agency.
Art Van Furniture, which operates an e-commerce site and more than 30 bricks-and-mortar stores, has hired Diana Sikes as senior vice president of marketing and public relations. She will oversee advertising, Internet, community relations and public relations efforts for the furniture retailer.
Sikes comes from advertising agency Sussman/Sikes, where for the past year she worked as the primary representative to Art Van Furniture. She was a partner at the agency.
“Diana has been a major contributor to Art Van’s marketing and public relations efforts even as an external resource,” says Kim Yost, the retailer’s CEO. “We are pleased she has decided to join the company and we know she will be a great addition to our leadership team.”
Sikes has nearly 30 years of marketing experience, the retailer says. Her retail marketing experience includes work with Weight Watchers, Hansons and various health care clients. Sikes starts her job Monday.
Art Van says it will continue working with Sussman/Sikes.
