OfficeMax names a new CEO and president
Ravi Saligram will take over for Sam Duncan, who is retiring.
OfficeMax Inc. has named Ravi K. Saligram as the multichannel retailer’s new president and CEO. He starts the job on Nov. 8. He replaces Sam Duncan, who had earlier said he would retire. Dugan will work as a special advisor to the company until Feb. 28.
Saligram comes to OfficeMax from Aramark Corp., which provides food and uniforms to schools, hospitals and businesses. He most recently worked as president of Aramark International. He also has worked for InterContinental Hotels Group and SC Johnson Wax.
“Saligram’s knowledge and expertise in managing professional services operations and growing businesses and brands make him an excellent choice to lead OfficeMax through its next phase,” Duncan says.
OfficeMax, No. 7 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also said that Rakesh Gangwal, lead director, will take over as non-executive chairman of the board on Nov. 8.
