Online home furnishings retailer CSN Stores LLC is offering consumers the option of paying with Mazooma Inc.’s online debit program.

The program allows consumers who have accounts with one of 14 banks, including Bank of America N.A., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Citibank N.A., to pay directly from their checking accounts.

To use the program, the consumer has to select Direct Debit as his payment method. The consumer then creates an account, which requires a password and date of birth. Once signed in, he selects his bank from a drop-down screen, signs in to his account and approves the online bill payment transaction to complete the purchase (Mazooma automatically enters the merchant’s information, as well as the transaction total).

Mazooma then checks that the consumer’s bank balance is larger than the transaction total, giving CSN Stores instant authorization.

Mazooma is primarily aimed at consumers without credit cards, as well as those uncomfortable with using their credit or debit cards online.

“A positive customer experience has always been our top priority,” says Nick Malone, chief financial officer of CSN Stores, No. 61 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. “With its quick and convenient transaction process, Mazooma enables us to rapidly shop products after an order is placed, making it a great debit option for both CSN Stores and our customers.”
