Needham, MA – Sept. 28, 2010 – Marketing intelligence solution provider Visual IQ, today announced that Bill Muller has joined the company as chief marketing officer (CMO). Muller will leverage his deep understanding of digital media and advertising, coupled with his significant experience at growing emerging technology companies to develop the strategy and implement all marketing, public relations and sales support activities.
Muller joins Visual IQ at a time of rapid expansion. Today’s appointment comes on the heels of a $3 million growth investment by Fog City Capital in August and a dramatic surge in demand for the company’s core marketing data integration, attribution and optimization software product modules—including the addition of 6 new Fortune 500 clients in 2010 that buy over $10 billion in media annually. Both demonstrate a fundamental shift in the marketing industry away from last-click conversion measurement and toward more accurate measurement models that use attribution to determine credit across multiple media touches. This enables marketers to turn data-driven insights into actions that deliver better ROI on their overall marketing mix.

A 30-year B-to-B professional services marketing veteran, Muller joins Visual IQ from iProspect, the leading provider of natural and paid search engine marketing services, where he served for 9 years and as CMO oversaw the entire firm’s marketing activities during its rapid growth. Prior to iProspect, he spent almost a decade as director of database marketing and lead generation for IT research and advisory firm Giga Information Group, which was acquired by Forrester Research in 2003. In this role, he was responsible for all client acquisition marketing, event marketing, and implementation of the corporate database marketing and CRM solutions.
