OfficeMax.com had the best consistency score among large retailers for August, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. Last month the chain retailer had the most consistent site loading time with a variation of 0.66 seconds, which means the Office Max site loaded within 0.66 seconds of its average load speed when successfully tested.
Rounding out the top five retailers after OfficeMax.com, Gomez listed OfficeDepot.com (0.76 seconds) QVC.com (0.92), Dell.com (0.95) and Apple.com (1.02).
In August, 10 of the 20 major retailers tested topped the group’s average consistency score of 1.34 seconds.
The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
