E-commerce stocks overcome stock market headwinds

The Internet Retailer Online Retail Index gained 0.36% last week.

E-commerce stocks moved ahead modestly for the second week in a row, despite a decline in the stock market as a whole.

The Internet Retailer Online Retail Index of 25 e-retailers and e-commerce technology providers advanced 0.36%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.62% and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 0.66%.

The Online Retail Index was about evenly split between winners and losers, with 12 stocks gaining and 13 losing ground

 

 

Here are the best-performing stocks last week in the Online Retail Index and the gain in stock price for each:

• DemandTec, 10.6%

• Keynote Systems, 8.1%

• VistaPrint, 8.0%

• United Online, 7.8%

• ATG, 6.8%

Here are the Online Retail Index stocks that performed least well last week and the percentage loss in stock price for the week:

• Vitacost.com, -14.3%

• 1-800-Flowers.com, -13.1%

•Systemax, -6.2%

•Shutterfly, -3.8%

•NutriSystem, -3.2%
