Google Inc. has combined its Google Online TV Ads unit and its Google Affiliate Network under a new department called Online Media Sales. As the new head of Google Online Media Sales, Google Online TV Ads chief Dan Greene has succeeded Chris Henger as head of the Google Affiliate Network. Henger now works as executive vice president, digital services, at Catalina Marketing. He left Google earlier this year.

Greene joined Google in February 2007 and led the Travel Vertical Advertising Group within the company’s online sales unit for two years before becoming head of Google Online TV Ads. He reports to Mike Steib, who heads up all of Google's TV ad sales.

Google TV Ads, which allows advertisers to bid for ad positions much as they compete for paid search positions through Google AdWords, provides an online service that lets marketers bid on, place and measure consumer response to ads across more than 98 cable TV networks.

Prior to Google, Greene was vice president of business operations for a startup aviation company and director of deal development and special programs for Rubloff Development Group. Earlier, he served for 11 years in the U.S. Navy, where he was a carrier-based fighter pilot and director of operations for several Navy units.
