Provide Commerce Inc., which already owns several flowers, gourmet food and gifts e-commerce sites, has acquired PersonalCreations.com for an undisclosed amount.

Provide Commerce, which is part of Liberty Media Corp., which also owns and operates QVC, No. 11 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, acquired PersonalCreations.com for its expertise in online gifts retailing and product personalization, the company says.

PersonalCreations.com, No. 207 in the Internet Retailer Top 500, combines product development, systems and process expertise to manage and synchronize 13 distinct personalization techniques, and offers a selection of more than 3,000 personalized items which can be shipped in two days or less, the company says.

“Personal Creations' strength in developing, producing and distributing personalized gifts nicely augments the gifting options we currently offer our customers," says Provide Commerce CEO Bill Strauss.

PersonalCreations.com will utilize Provide Commerce’s bigger e-commerce base to further grow its personal products niche, says CEO John Semmelhack. “Their expertise in gifting, direct marketing and e-commerce will strengthen Personal Creations' position in the marketplace,” says Semmelhack.

Provide Commerce, which owns and operates ProFlowers.com, CherryMoonFarms.com and Berries.com, acquired the assets of gifts retailer RedEnvelope.com in May 2008.
