Macy’s Inc. has named Jeff Kantor president, merchandising for Macys.com. He will report to Peter Sachse, Macys.com chairman.

Kantor will oversee all merchandising for Macys.com.

He succeeds Helaine Suval, executive vice president, merchandising, who is moving to a new position in which she will oversee the development of Macys.com’s e-commerce growth strategy until her retirement in spring 2011. She will also report to Sachse.

Kantor had been president and general merchandise manager for Macy’s Home Store since May 2009. Before that he was president for furniture for Macy's Home Store. He has also worked as president of Hecht’s/Strawbridge's and held senior merchandising positions in non-home areas at Filene's/Kaufmann's.

The executive changes are effective Aug. 1.
