The up-and-down stock market bounced back last week, and e-commerce stocks led the way.
The Internet Retailer Online Retail Index of 25 e-commerce stocks gained 3.71%, outpacing broader stock market measures. By contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 2.81% and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index moved up 2.51%.
Only three stocks in the Online Retail Index lost ground last week. Online jewelry retailer Blue Nile, which has been as volatile as the stock market as a whole, had its second strong week in a row, gaining 10.5% to lead the Online Retail Index.
