Direct retailer Oriental Trading names a new senior marketing exec

Web and catalog retailer Oriental Trading Co. Inc. has named Dave Johnson senior vice president of marketing.

Most recently founder and president of Crosspoint Marketing, Johnson previously spent five years as executive vice president of direct marketing and e-commerce at School Specialty Inc., a provider of educational products and services. Before that, he worked for 15 years at Lands’ End, including five years as vice president of direct marketing.

“I had the privilege of working with Dave for five years when we were both at Lands’ End, and he is one of the best catalog marketers in the business,” says Sam Taylor, CEO of Oriental Trading. “His extensive database and direct marketing experience—as well as his knowledge of consumer, educational, nonprofit and B2B customer segments—will help accelerate our growth going forward.”
