Under Armour, an athletic gear manufacturer and multichannel retailer, has named John Rogers as head of e-commerce. He will assume his new post in mid-May and report to Kevin Plank, CEO and founder of Under Armour.

Rogers was most recently vice president of multichannel marketing at The Orvis Company, a retailer of sporting goods and apparel through the web and catalogs where Rogers has worked for 10 years. He led the introduction of the Orvis brand into the United Kingdom, served as director of multichannel marketing and at one time was responsible for overseeing Orvis’ Internet site.

"We are very excited for John to join the Under Armour team leading e-commerce,” Plank says. “Digital represents one of the most important places for our brand to connect with our young consumer. John has a strong track record of success, and as we continue to expand our e-commerce business, he will play a key role in optimizing this important distribution channel.”

Under Armour is No. 215 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
