Local Offer Lounge, a site that aggregates consumer deals from such sites as Groupon.com, DealaDayOnline.com and others, has relaunched as Dealradar.com and hired Internet veteran Daniel Hess as CEO. Hess, who most recently was a consultant, co-founded Local Offer Lounge on a consulting basis. He has decided to give up his consulting business to run Dealradar.com.
“Local Offer Lounge was a beta version that was released in March 2010, initially covering 48 sites in 52 markets,” Hess says. “Dealradar is a relaunch with far greater coverage, a faster and more comprehensive offer aggregation and categorization engine, and of course a clean new UI [user interface] and new brand.”
Dealradar.com is launching with deals from 80 sites in 60 cities in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
Before starting his consulting business, Hess was vice president of marketing and strategy at the Tribune Co. and senior vice president at Internet audience measurement company comScore Inc.
