There are many common mistakes search marketers make, and Hanny Hindi, a consultant at search marketing firm Clickable, will outline 10 of the most common errors—and how to avoid them—Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition.

"Every search marketer, from novices managing their first campaigns to seasoned pros, occasionally falls into bad habits,” says Hindi, who will speak in a session entitled 10 bad search habits that are easy to fall into—and easy to dump. “In this session, we'll review a variety of ‘don'ts’—from optimizing for clicks rather than conversions to ignoring advanced targeting options rather than serving your ads at the right place and at the right time."

Beginners often become obsessed with gaining the top position for their search ads, while experienced search marketers may ignore advanced options, such as targeting ads to consumers based on their location, demographics or the time of day or season, he says.

Hindi will speak on a panel with Thomas Heffernan, search marketing strategist at online home improvement products retailer Allied Trade Group.

Why the editors asked Hanny Hindi to speak:
Hanny Hindi brings a depth of experience to search engine marketing that encompasses copywriting, search engine optimization and pay-per-click search marketing. He has implemented numerous customized blogs and web sites as a freelance consultant and has worked as a developer on portal implementations.

Full details about the conference and registration information are available at IRCE2010.com.
