In a year’s time, retailer Beyond the Rack Enterprises Inc.’s Beyond the Rack invitation-only online shopping club has reached the 1 million member mark.
Launched in March 2009, Beyond the Rack’s rate of growth has put the merchant on target to reach $100 million in sales by the end of the year, says the company, which sells directly on its site. About 80% of its customers are from the United States and 20% from Canada.
“Reaching the millionth member milestone so quickly tells us that we’re providing consumers an easy and exciting shopping experience as they purchase deeply discounted merchandise from dozens of top brand names every week,” says CEO Yona Shtern. “Maintaining customer satisfaction is our top priority, as they are our best advocates for the future success of the company.”
Many of Beyond the Rack’s members are invited to join the online club by friends who are already members. This viral source of growth is core to the retailer’s rapid expansion, Shtern adds.
