The search giant today launched an app called Inbox that could force retailers to change their e-mail marketing strategies.

IContact, which is exhibiting at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, has 195 employees. The company’s new 70,000-square-foot headquarters can accommodate up to 500 staff members.
“We started out in two rooms in downtown Chapel Hill in 2003,” says iContact CEO Ryan Allis. “We moved to Durham in 2004 when we reached 12 employees. Our new headquarters location in Morrisville will be a great home to achieve our vision and continue our rapid growth to 500 team members and beyond.”
iContact says it has more than 62,000 customers. The company provides e-mail marketing for small and mid-sized businesses and non-profit organizations. It also offers an iContact Enterprise product for large businesses. Large customers include LG Electronics, ReMax International Inc., Intuit and Vonage Marketing LLC.
