Art.com Inc., an online retailer of posters, prints and artwork, is tapping into the public’s tastes with a contest to identify new artists. Entrants will post their work on Art.com’s Facebook page and visitors’ votes will determine a winner following the April 22 deadline.

“As a way to cultivate art discovery, we’re launching the ‘America’s Next Master Artist’ contest series to identify and celebrate America’s great emerging artists,” says Gary Takemoto, senior vice president of merchandising at Art.com, No. 99 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. “Our hope is to help them pursue their professional goals by offering them the chance to showcase and sell their work on Art.com.”

One of two winners will be selected by the public from the Facebook submissions and another winner will be selected by a panel of design experts. The winners will be announced May 14.
