RadioShack names a merchandising chief

RadioShack Corp. has named Scott Young as executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. His responsibilities include overseeing the retailer’s merchandising and product development activities.

RadioShack Corp. has named Scott Young as executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. His responsibilities include overseeing the retailer’s merchandising and product development activities.

 

RadioShack is No. 224 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Young had most recently worked as divisional president and chief marketing officer at LodgeNet Interactive Corp., which sells media and Internet services to hotels and health care businesses. Previously, Young worked as vice president of merchandising for RadioShack, No. 10 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

"Over the last year, RadioShack has successfully launched our new brand platform and has become a leader in meeting customers` needs for high-demand mobile technology and connectivity products and services," says Julian Day, RadioShack’s chairman and CEO. "As we pursue growth opportunities ahead, we are confident Scott will play a critical role in our plans to enhance the product assortment and the shopping experience.”
