Men’s apparel manufacturer Haggar Clothing Co. launches an e-commerce site

Haggar Clothing Co. this week launched an online retail site where consumers can buy such items as pants, shorts, suit separates, outerwear and accessories.

The men’s apparel manufacturer launched the site using services and technology from GSI Commerce Inc. Under a multiyear deal, GSI will operate Haggar’s online retail business and provide technology, order management, customer care and marketing services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Five to six years ago Haggar experimented with a rudimentary, internally hosted site," says Jon Ragsdale, Haggar`s senior vice president of marketing and merchandising. "While results indicated great potential, the decision was made to table the e-commerce project to a later date."

Ragsdale says Haggar plans a marketing campaign that kicks off on April 7 with Fox Sports that is designed to promote the new Haggar site.

Haggar will also use TrueAction, GSI’s digital agency, for interactive marketing and design services for the clothing company’s online retail activities. GSI also will provide affiliate and e-mail marketing and paid search services.

Haggar was founded in 1926. GSI provides similar e-commerce services to more than 200 apparel brands and retailers.
