Verizon’s year-over-year traffic rose 111% in February

Verizon attracted 19.48 million visitors to its web site in February, a 111% increase from the same month a year earlier, Nielsen Online reports.

Verizon attracted 19.48 million visitors to its web site in February, a 111% increase from the same month a year earlier, Nielsen Online reports.

And, once again, Amazon.com Inc. had the most traffic among retail sites in February, with 57.49 million unique visitors.

The Top 10 online retail destinations in February, ranked by unique visitors in millions this February and last, with year-over-year growth, according to Nielsen Online, were:

  • Amazon, 57.49, 33.39, 72%
  • eBay, 50.82, 36.96, 38%
  • Wal-Mart Stores, 27.98, 15.29, 83%
  • AT&T;, 26.99, 18.79, 44%
  • Adobe, 24.52, 15.13, 62%
  • Target, 21.99, 15.11, 46%
  • Netflix, 19.76, 9.80, 102%
  • Verizon Wireless, 19.48, 9.24, 111%
  • Best Buy, 16.65, 8.55, 95%
  • Real, 15.54, 16.24, -4%

Unique visitors count only once each shopper who came to a site, no matter how many times that shopper visited. This is a custom list compiled by Internet Retailer of the top e-commerce sites based on Nielsen Online data. Rankings may contain multiple web sites from the same retailer or manufacturer. The top 10 consumer goods advertisers in terms of online ad impressions (in millions) in February, according to Nielsen data, were:

  • The Procter & Gamble Co., 504.04
  • Bottom Line Publications, 500.02
  • Avon Products Inc., 366.11
  • General Mills Inc., 334.06
  • Unilever, 333.85
  • FRS Co., 312.59

  • PepsiCo Inc., 258.09
  • Mars Inc., 221.59
