Georgianne Brown, a former retailer who is co-founder and managing partner of Big Couch Media Group, will discuss at the Internet Retailer Conference how to use the latest search engine optimization techniques to improve page rankings, and take part in live critiques of web sites, in a session entitled A search engine optimization tune-up.

Search engine optimization is a constant struggle, with retailers needing to make use of the latest tools to make sure pages do not fall out of rankings, says Georgianne Brown , co-founder and managing partner of Big Couch Media Group, a consulting firm.

Brown, a former retailer, will talk about how to employ the latest SEO tactics and strategies in a session entitled A search engine optimization tune-up. The session will include live SEO critiques of web sites volunteered by attendees.

“As new channels, tools and methods continue to evolve in SEO, it is a reminder that we must constantly approach this from an art and science perspective,” Brown says. “Some areas to be reviewed include site architecture, use of available tools and analytics, content and the evolution of social media and what that means to SEO.”

Why the editors asked Georgianne Brown to speak:
Georgianne Brown brings a retailer’s and consumer marketer’s perspective to her role as head of Big Couch Media, a strategic consulting and interactive agency focused on supporting entrepreneurial growth companies. Georgianne Brown was president of BabyUniverse Inc. and, before that, held key executive roles at eDiets.com, Certified Vacations Group and Alamo Rent A Car.
