ColdwaterCreek.com gave shoppers the fastest high broadband access time among large web retailers last month, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. In February, ColdwaterCreek.com produced a high broadband response time of 6.20 seconds.
Dell.com had the next best response time with 7.50 seconds, followed by Amazon.com (8.68 seconds), QVC.com (8.97 seconds) and AmwayGlobal.com (9.06 seconds). ColdwaterCreek.com also turned in the fastest web site response time for shoppers using a low broadband connection at 16.68 seconds. Dell.com was the next fastest at 21.65 seconds.
In February, a shopper with a high broadband connection could access a top retailer’s web site in an average time of 12.25 seconds, compared with 34.18 seconds for a low broadband connection and 65.91 seconds for dial-up.
