Horchow posts 251% traffic growth

Housewares merchant Horchow.com attracted 2.14 million shoppers in January, a 251% increase from 610,000 a year before, Nielsen Online reports.

Housewares merchant Horchow.com attracted 2.14 million shoppers in January, a 251% increase from 610,000 a year before, Nielsen Online reports.

And, once again, the Home Depot’s e-commerce site attracted the most consumers in January among home and garden online retailers with 13.23 million shoppers.

The top online home and garden shopping destinations in January, with unique visitors in millions this year compared with a year earlier and the percent change, according to Nielsen NetView, were:

  • The Home Depot, 13.23, 11.24, 18%
  • Lowe’s, 8.88, 10.37, -14%
  • eBay Home, 4.72, 7.20, -34%
  • Home Shopping Network, 4.51, 4.47, 1%
  • Tempur-Pedic, 4.41, NA, NA%
  • Better Homes & Gardens Network, 3.75, 3.14, 19%
  • Ikea, 3.63, 3.75, -3%
  • Horchow.com, 2.14, 0.61, 251%
  • Jo-Ann.com, 1.97, 2.42, -19%

Unique visitors count only once each shopper who came to a site, no matter how many times the shopper visited. This is a custom list compiled by Internet Retailer of the top e-commerce sites in this category based on data from Nielsen NetView, a service of The Nielsen Co. Rankings may contain multiple web sites from the same retailer or manufacturer. Nielsen has expanded its panels of Internet users and, effective with June 2009 data, this may affect the percentage change from previous results for some sites.

By length of visit, the top home and garden shopping sites in January (hours:minutes:seconds), according to Nielsen Online, were:

The top consumer goods home and garden advertisers in terms of online ad impressions (in millions) in January, according to Nielsen data, were:

  • Sears Holdings Corp., Kenmore Elite, 100.07
  • The Procter & Gamble Co., Cheer, 37.27
  • The Procter & Gamble Co., Bounce, 29.21
  • The Procter & Gamble Co., Tide, 17.56
  • Masco Corp., Delta Faucet, 17.20
  • Sub-Zero Freezer Co. Inc., Wolf Appliance Co. LLC, 16.83
  • The Procter & Gamble Co., Febreze, 16.01
  • The Clorox Co., Clorox, 15.12
