ColdwaterCreek.com posted the best rating in the high broadband availability tests among large retailers for January, says Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp. Web shoppers could access the apparel and accessories retailer’s site 96.91% of the time last month.

The average availability for the top retailers in January was 91.23% for high broadband, 80.93% for low broadband and 52.78% for dial-up, Gomez says.

Rounding out the top five e-retailers for high broadband availability were Chadwicks.com and CircuitCity.com (tied with 96.51%), Newegg.com (96.42%), and Dell.com (96.40%).

ColdwaterCreek.com also had the most consistent low broadband availability at 89.85%, and Dell.com had the most consistent dial-up availability at 83.32%.
