PrintGlobe Inc., an e-retailer of business printing products and supplies, has acquired the assets of Absorbent, Ink, an online retailer of branded specialty corporate gifts. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The deal gives PrintGlobe access to Absorbent’s e-commerce platform and web content as well as thousands of new customers, according to Dan Steinborn, PrintGlobe president. Lee Eldridge, president of Absorbent, Ink, joins PrintGlobe as senior project manager.
“In a year when we had one of the worst quarters in our country’s history and given the trend of brick-and-mortar printing businesses failing at a rapid rate, we feel more excited than ever that we are positioned to continue our growth and leadership in the business printing market,” says Steinborn.
PrintGlobe, which launched its e-commerce site in 2002 after starting as a brick and mortar store in 1995, offers more than 11,000 customizable promotional products and has more than 30,000 customers spanning corporations, non-profit organizations, academic institutions and government agencies, according to the company.
