Department store chain Belk Ecommerce LLC has bolstered its e-commerce expertise with the addition of Ivy Chin, an e-retailing veteran from TV and web shopping powerhouse QVC .
The company named Chin, former QVC Inc. vice president, strategic and multimedia operations, as its senior vice president of e-commerce. She’ll report to Jon Pollack, executive vice president, sales promotion and marketing, who is now also in charge of the company’s e-commerce business.
Chin began her career at QVC 14 years ago as a systems engineer. Among the titles Chin held at QVC during her tenure are director of Internet content, design and architecture, director of interactive and broadcasting systems and chief Internet architect.
“These changes will allow us to fully realize the synergies of our e-commerce, sales promotion and marketing areas,” says Tim Belk, chairman and CEO. “We’re pleased that Ivy has joined our e-commerce team at Belk and know that her exceptional talent and experience in the e-commerce business will be a tremendous asset to us.”
