U.K. online coupon service MyVoucherCodes.co.uk had more than 900,000 people log on today between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., a 210% jump from the same day a year ago and a 345% increase from its average traffic.

Mark Pearson, founder of the site, says the traffic increase is due, in part, to unusually heavy and disruptive snowfall, which is driving consumers to do more holiday shopping online.

“It really has been a shopping frenzy, likely to have been brought on by late buyers and the snow disruption, which continues to affect transport across the country,” he says.

Pearson says the site expects more than 11 million unique hits this month, 22% more visitors than its average month.
