The Sports Authority names a new head of marketing and e-commerce

Multichannel sporting goods retailer The Sports Authority has a new top e-commerce executive. As the retailer’s chief marketing and chief strategy officer, Jeffrey Schumacher also will oversee all Internet initiatives.

Multichannel sporting goods retailer The Sports Authority has a new top e-commerce executive.

The Sports Authority has hired Jeffrey Schumacher as the retailer’s chief marketing and chief strategy officer. Schumacher will oversee The Sports Authority’s e-commerce program in addition to all marketing, advertising, private brand strategy and corporate and business development activities.

Prior to joining The Sports Authority, Schumacher worked as a partner in McKinsey & Company`s North American marketing and sales practice. At McKinsey, Schumacher also had responsibility for the West Coast marketing and sales practice and served as the global head of the customer lifecycle management solution center.
