E-commerce stocks gained just over 3% last week in a bullish week on Wall Street.

The gain in the Internet Retailer Online Retail Index fell a bit short of the 3.2% advance in both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Standard & Poor’s 500 index. For the year, however, the Online Retail Index is ahead nearly 80%, while the Dow is up 14.2% and the S&P; 18.4%.

Leading the way last week among 25 e-commerce retailers and technology vendors in the Online Retail Index was chat provider LivePerson Inc., whose stock gained nearly 15% after the company reported strong revenue growth and record earnings in the third quarter.
