PivotLink, which provides analytics in a software-as-a-service format, has hired Bob Kemper as senior vice president of development. He will lead the company`s product vision, functional requirements and the development of PivotLink`s products and services.
Kemper brings to PivotLink over 20 years of software engineering experience, including senior executive roles at PrecisionPoint Software, SPSS and Hyperion.
"Bob Kemper is a world-class software development executive with a deep and rich business intelligence background and a passion for delivering the next-generation business analytics solutions," says Quentin Gallivan, CEO of PivotLink. "Bob is a terrific addition to our very strong management team."
Prior to PivotLink, Kemper was vice president of engineering at PrecisionPoint Software, which provides data warehousing services for Microsoft Dynamics customers. He also previously worked as senior vice president of research and development at SPSS, where he managed the company’s software-as-a-service survey platform and helped build the company’s analytics services. SPSS recently announced it will be acquired by IBM. Other past roles include 10 years of experience at Hyperion, where he most recently was vice president of application development and managed a team of more than 200 developers.
"The future of software delivery is through a SaaS model, particularly when it comes to bringing business analytics to a broad audience,” Kemper says. “Traditional on-premise solutions don`t provide the flexibility to reach large numbers of users in a cost-effective way. The opportunity to work for PivotLink in advancing the next generation of SaaS and further solidify our leadership in SaaS BI is tremendously exciting."
Kemper holds patents on business intelligence tools to aggregate and analyze data, uncover trends, and accelerate customer billing. He also participates in industry consortiums such as the Object Management Group, and contributed to the development of the Java Community Process` Java OLAP Interface.
Pivot Link’s customers include multichannel retailers REI and retailer and manufacturer The North Face. The privately held company is backed by Trident Capital, Emergence Capital Partners and StarVest Partners.
