Movie rental subscription service Netflix reeled in a 24% increase in traffic last month compared to a year earlier, Nielsen reports. Verizon Wireless, however, was the ultimate victor in traffic growth for August. It’s traffic rose 26%.
Once again, eBay and Amazon duked it out for the No 1. slot in terms of traffic to retail sites for the month. In August, eBay beat Amazon with 54.04 million visitors. Amazon posted 52.30 million unique visitors.
The Top 10 online retail destinations in August, ranked by unique visitors in millions this August and last, with year-over-year growth, according to Nielsen Online, were:

The top 10 consumer goods advertisers in terms of online ad impressions (in millions) in August, according to Nielsen data, were:
