Timberland names a new senior e-commerce executive

In addition to e-commerce, Mark Bryden will oversee all marketing, retail and wholesale operations as the vice president and general manager of North America. Bryden worked at SmartWool Corp., an outdoor performance brand Timberland acquired in 2005.

The Timberland Co. has a new senior executive in charge of e-commerce.

Timberland, No. 433 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has named Mark Bryden as vice president and general manager of North America.

In addition to e-commerce, Bryden also will oversee all marketing, retail and wholesale operations. Timberland uses GSI Commerce Inc. as its third-party e-commerce services provider.

Prior to his new position, Bryden served as president and general manager of SmartWool Corp., an outdoor performance brand Timberland acquired in 2005. Bryden also worked as an executive at Nike Corp. and spent 26 years at Levi, Strauss & Co.

As the new vice president and general manager of North America, Bryden will report directly to Timberland CEO Jeffrey Swartz. Timberland promoted SmartWool vice president of sales Mark Satkiewicz to head up the SmartWool brand.
