Living Direct airs it out with SimplyDehumidifiers.com

Living Direct Inc. is branching out with the launch of SimplyDehumidifiers.com, a microsite that carries about 100 SKUs and brands such as Danby, Frigidaire and LG. The site features buyer’s guides, customer reviews and product comparisons.

Living Direct Inc., which owns and operates CompactAppliance.com, is branching out.

The online retailer, No. 265 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, has launched SimplyDehumidifiers.com, a microsite that carries about 100 SKUs and brands such as Danby, Frigidaire, EdgeStar, Ebac, Soleus, Sunpentown, and LG.

SimplyDehumidifiers.com was built using a standard set of design templates on Living Direct’s e-commerce platform from Demandware, says Living Direct president Jason Roussos. Product pages were designed to enable shoppers to search for dehumidifiers by application, brand, pint capacity and coverage areas.

However, it took four years to develop supplier relationships and the inventory to make SimplyDehumidifiers.com a sustainable e-commerce site. “Our microsite strategy is to learn the products first,” says Roussos.

SimplyDehumidifers.com features buyer’s guides, customer reviews and product comparisons. Additional site features include live chat, customer wish lists and an e-mail-a-friend application. “Dehumidifiers come in so many shapes, sizes and types these days,” says Living Direct CEO Rick Lundbom “We decided to build a new site from the ground up that makes the dehumidifier selection process quick and effortless.”

SimplyDehumidifers.com is the latest in series of four specialized e-commerce sites developed by Living Direct. Other recent launches include Kegorator.com and PortableAirShop.com.
