The Knot and wish list technology company tie the knot

The Knot, a wedding planning and retail site, has acquired, a developer of wish list technology and operator of, a stand-alone gift registry service used by 200 retailers.

The Knot Inc., a wedding planning and retail site, has acquired Inc., developer of wish list technology and operator of, a stand-alone gift registry service.’s technology allows multiple shoppers to contribute to the purchase of an item from a wish list. It also allows wedding guests to contribute cash to a wish list that the bride and groom can apply to purchases on the list.

About 200 retailers use the registry. The Knot will continue to sell eWish services to other retailers who want wedding and baby registries on their web sites. The Knot, No. 345 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, will not use eWish on its own site.

“This exciting new acquisition enables us to provide better and more complete services to our retail partners, while enhancing the wedding and baby registry service experience for our consumers,” says David Liu, CEO. “The addition of these technologies immediately identifies The Knot as the largest registry service destination, not only in the wedding space, but in the baby space as well.”
