Update brings Enterprise functionality to Small to Mid Market eTailers

April 12, 2009 Beanbasket announces the release of several conversion generation tools in the latest update. Chief among them is the ability for small to mid-market etailers to provide sophisticated, dynamic, faceted search and guided navigation to their shoppers.

Previously web shoppers were forced to follow the navigation paths defined by the store template. With this update, customers get a greater level of personalization with an intuitive and highly engaging navigation model based on product attributes or facets. Each consumer can tailor their own navigation - which can be the difference between a sale and a frustrated customer that couldn’t find what they were looking for.

This new navigation method allows classifications to be dynamically built, re-ordered and grouped on the fly, rather than in a single, pre-determined, order.

Consumers can now easily narrow down the product lists by clicking on attributes such as shoes, color, size, designer, price range, material, or occasion. Merchants can now build sophisticated “Finder” tools as a part of their site so, for example, a B2B site might help a contractor search for the right adhesive to bond glass to steel with additional attributes like quick set, paintable, and under water.

Statistics have shown that customers using Beanbasket’s traditional search tool are significantly more likely to purchase. The challenge has been to get consumers to interact with the tool. But by integrating advanced search into the navigation you automatically get the consumer to participate in merchandising your store the way they want to see it. This new model of direct interaction with the consumer keeps them engaged with the site until they find exactly what they were looking for – often presenting enticing products across categories that would not have been viewed.
