Apparel and accessories merchants delivered the fastest access in January to shoppers with a high broadband connection, says Gomez Inc.
Shoppers with a broadband connection could visit an apparel/accessories site in about 6.05 seconds, Gomez says, compared with computers and electronics retailers (6.13 seconds), mass merchants (7.09 seconds), and specialty merchants (7.51 seconds).
When a site is accessed by a dial-up connection, apparel and accessories retailers provided the fastest average access at 55.07 seconds, Gomez says. The next fastest web retailing category was mass merchants at 55.80 seconds, followed by computers and electronics retailers at 56.10.
