Power Equipment Direct Inc., a retailer of products ranging from snow blowers to water pumps to electric generators has launched four niche retail sites in recent months, and posted record third- and fourth-quarter sales, founder Jon Hoch says.
“We sold more in the fourth quarter than we did during our first two years of existence,” says Hoch, who founded the company in 2002.
Power Equipment Direct, No. 358 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, now operates eight retail web sites. Its newest sites are MowersDirect.com, ChainSawsDirect.com, WaterPumpsDirect.com and SumpPumpsDirect.com.
The company also operates four sites named after the product lines of electric generators, pressure washers, air compressors and snow blowers.
Hoch says he also plans a ninth site, LogSplittersDirect.com.
