Acumium acquires e-commerce platform from NetConcepts

As NetConcepts exits the web site development and hosting business to concentrate on search engine marketing services, Acumium is taking over the NetConcepts GravityMarket e-commerce technology platform.

As NetConcepts exits the web site development and hosting business to concentrate on search engine marketing services, Acumium is taking over the NetConcepts GravityMarket e-commerce technology platform, the two Madison, WI-based companies said. Terms were not disclosed.

NetConcepts launched the GravityMarket platform in 2001, then re-architected it for relaunch in 2007. The platform is designed to support search marketing with text-based, search-optimized web addresses; unique title tags and keyword-rich content.

"With GravityMarket, retail clients can expect their entire web site to be indexed by the search engines, making their pages visible to people searching for the products and services they sell," says Dan Costello, founder of Acumium. "That way, GravityMarket clients can concentrate on web site merchandising and other activities designed to increase the conversion of the natural search traffic."

Acumium, founded in 2001, also provides web content management, e-marketing applications and web analytics along with e-commerce platform technology.
