Obama memoir shoots to the top of Amazon’s best-seller list

The president-elect’s book “The Audacity of Hope” moved into the No. 1 spot on Amazon’s list of top-selling books today. Sales of the book increased 3,500% in the past 24 hours, while sales of his earlier book also soared.

Barack Obama won the presidential election yesterday and today has taken another coveted top spot: his book has moved to No. 1 on Amazon.com Inc.’s best-seller list.

The online retailer says sales of Obama memoir, “The Audacity of Hope,” have increased 3,500% in the past 24 hours to move from the 36th spot among best-selling books to the top position.

Sales of Obama’s earlier book, “Hopes and Dreams: The Story of Barack Obama,” have shot up by 6,150% on Amazon.com in the past day, moving the book to No. 135 on Amazon’s best-seller list from No. 8,438.

Amazon is No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
