While eBay consistently ranks among the top online retailers in terms of traffic according to Nielsen Online rankings, the number of unique visitors to the retailer’s sites also has been consistently falling in recent months. Last month, traffic to two eBay apparel and beauty sites-eBay Clothing, Shoes and Accessories and eBay Jewelry and Watches-fell 19% and 44% respectively, even though they ranked No. 1 and No. 9 in traffic for the category.

New Nielsen data shows a similar trend for computer and consumer electronics shopping destinations. Last month, unique visitors to eBay Electronics fell 18%, even though the merchant came in third in traffic for the category.
