Furniture.com adds chief operating officer to help it grow beyond furniture

Furniture.com, a retailer and a provider of e-commerce technology to retailers, has hired a COO to manage growth and its expansion into new lines of business, including offering e-commerce services to companies outside its base of furniture retailers.

Furniture.com, a retailer as well as a provider of e-commerce technology to retailers, has hired Morgan Woodruff as chief operating officer. He will be responsible for managing Furniture.com’s growth and the company’s evolution into new lines of business, including providing e-commerce services to companies outside Furniture.com’s base of furniture retailers.

Before joining Furniture.com, No. 164 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, Woodruff was U.S. general manager and senior executive vice president of sales and marketing for Owera Inc., a telecommunications software company that specializes in voice over Internet protocol and router device design. Woodruff was also vice president of sales and marketing for Global IP Sound.

Furniture.com reports strong growth in the past year, especially among clients from outside its base of furniture retailers. Woodruff will oversee that growth while adding lines of business, the company says.
