On-demand, web-based retail portal reduces operational expenses while improving the ability to communicate with stores and monitor store compliance
Toronto, Ontario – September 24, 2008 – Opterus Inc. announces the release of Store Ops-Center, a web-based retail portal solution that enables retailers to accurately and consistently distribute information, and to plan, schedule, assign, prioritize, automate, communicate and monitor store operational task compliance. Early tests indicate that Opterus customers have experienced more than 20 percent in efficiency gains with Store Ops-Center.
Opterus Store Ops-Center is offered in a "Software as a Service" model (SaaS) providing retailers with a low-cost solution. There is minimal upfront investment, which allows quick and easy implementation across all stores. Store Ops-Center can also be installed within a few days through simple configuration of workflow business rules, and easy integration of operational data. The only technology required at the store is a browser pointed to Store Ops-Center, requiring no additional hardware or software at the corporate office or individual stores.
With Store Ops-Center, corporate personnel, district and regional management can take advantage of the solution`s dashboard reports that identify stores that are not compliant with operational objectives. Store Ops-Center is specifically designed to be used in all retail segments including general merchandise, specialty, department store, supermarket, drug store, c-store and hospitality.
"Retailers continue to struggle to find the most efficient way to standardize their chains with the same business and operational processes to produce parallel results," said Janet Hawkins, co-founder and president, Opterus. "This has always been an important part of retailing, and especially with today`s tough economic climate, it is particularly critical that retailers choose a consistent channel to drive down operational costs. Store Ops-Center will enable retailers to apply uniform efficiency standards across all stores."
Opterus Inc. is based in Toronto, Ontario and was founded in 2006 by a group of retail industry technology veterans. The concept of Store Ops-Center was based on solving retail operational issues that are not currently addressed by other retail technology solutions.
